I ride the bus because I don't want to deal with the traffic and parking at the University. The Tuesday and Thursday morning bus are usually pretty miserable. They drive a ski bus and most of the time I end up standing in one of the stalls.
It looks funny, like I'm in prison, but it's better than being crammed next to 40 other students in puffy coats and full backpacks. Said backpacks usually smack me in the stomach when the driver slams on the brakes making everyone slide and stumble.
I swear the drivers do this on purpose for their own enjoyment. Then at the stop light they gun the engine sending us slipping to the back. My favorite drivers are the ones that yell at other drivers and pretend they're King of the Bus. One tells us there's no eating or drinking on the bus. I've never seen any signs forbidding it. I have a sneaky suspicion he just doesn't want to clean up any mess that's left.
This same driver instructs people they have to take a seat, even though it's really up to passengers if they want to sit. We're welcome to slip and slide if we want to, thank you very much. This driver must not have much control in his own life so he has to lord it over his passengers.
I will continue to ride the bus, though. It's better than driving on campus.
Haha oh yes. The shuttles on campus are a resource I use every day. You would think they would have to pass some sort of safe driving test to attain such a job, but with the way they drive, I wouldn't be able to guess it. My trips in the shuttle have been some of the roughest drives I've been on.
